Index keymarks are used to keymark different elements of a manuscript's index.

Place the insertion point anywhere in the paragraph you want to keymark.
From the right mouse button menu, choose Index.
Select the index keymark from the menu.

    Note:
Instead of keymarking a blank line as IndexAlpha you should keymark the first entry of each letter as
IndexAlpha.
